If you've been following this blog, you've already seen some examples of how photographers have been incorporating muslin bags into their packaging. But what exactly are muslin bags? Simply put, they are cotton drawstring bags. The word muslin refers to a loosely woven cotton fabric. It's a highly breathable fabric great for hot and arid conditions.

It's no wonder muslin bags have become a very popular item to use for packaging. It's so versatile, comes in so many sizes and is easily be personalized.  Muslin bags can be a beautiful and reusable keepsake for your clients. They come in  slightly different shades of white and can be purchased in small online shops as well as in larger retail stores.

Here are some of my favorite ways of how to use muslin bags in photo packaging:

1. Fill it with gifts. It's the perfect little bag that can be filled with candies, a gift card or any other item as a thank you gift for your clients.

2. Fill with a flash drive that contains your client's images: instead of using a box, switch it up and use a muslin bag.

3. Fill with prints. Muslin bags come in a great variety of sizes, I've seen them up to 8x12 inches—perfect for those pesky bigger sized prints that we never know how to present to our clients. Also, they can be super cute for collections of wallet sized or 4x6 prints when using a smaller bag.

4. Fill it with all your deliverables. If you don't have that many deliverables and can fit them all into a muslin bag, do just that. You'll save time and money by not having to individually package every item.
